Full Biography

Kate is a Senior School Improvement Adviser with over 30 years’ experience of teaching and senior leadership in inner London schools. Kate is also the appropriate body lead and moderation manager at BDSIP.

Prior to joining BDSIP, Kate was a head teacher in Tower Hamlets. She took the school to outstanding in 2016 and was highly commended by Ofsted for her approach to equalities and inclusion. Her school has since retained the outstanding grade under the new framework. During her headship, Kate created strong professional partnerships with schools in the local authority and engaged in a range of collaborative projects to improve outcomes for pupils.

Kate worked with the Tower Hamlets Education Partnership as a coach and mentor on the future head teachers programme as well as piloting a peer review programme. Through this work, Kate developed her skills in mentoring, coaching and supporting school improvement. She became a local leader of education (LLE) in 2018 and worked as a school improvement partner (SIP) for the London East Teacher Training Alliance.
