Head of Careers & Work Experience
With over ten years experience of working in STEM education and public engagement, Aasiya has experience of working with schools, families, cultural and educational institutes as well as STEM business. After completing her studies in Chemistry, Aasiya worked in the education team at the Science Museum, initially working within the interactive galleries to deliver interactive shows and demonstrations. She continued to work on a number of projects working with local communities, schools, teachers, national and international projects.
Aasiya progressed to join STEM Learning, working with north London schools providing STEM support to teachers and career coordinators, working closely with teacher networks and local educations authorities. This also included coordinating
STEM Ambassadors, training ambassadors to deliver career session, workshops and support curriculum. She managed a number of STEM business partnerships, supporting CSR programmes and other initiatives.
Aasiya now joins BDSIP after three years of working at the Royal Institution of Great Britain where she coordinated a national network of Engineering Masterclasses, bridging the gap between STEM business and education. Where young people were able to meet local inspirational engineers from diverse backgrounds and experience hands on engineering workshops.
Aasiya’s passions lie in supporting young people and families to raise aspirations and realise their potential. She enjoys working with STEAM professionals to develop engaging educational programmes, bringing to life scientific principles, innovation and creativity.
