I am Lead Careers adviser – managing a team of advisers as well as providing careers guidance.
Putting children and young people at the heart of one’s work is what inspired me to join BDSIP – where I have been employed since 2019. I enjoy working in a collaborative and supportive way with my colleagues from different disciplines to provide a holistic service to schools that enables young people to realize their aspirations and goals in life.
I am a post- graduate qualified careers practitioner with over 20 years’ experience in this field – working with a wide range of clients including Adults, SEN and Looked after young people. Prior to joining BDSIP I worked in Further Education, for Connexions (London East and Central) and the National Careers Service. During this time, I also assisted several trainee colleagues to successfully achieve professional qualifications in advice and guidance.
I currently lead and manage a team of careers advisers – coordinating their work and I also provide impartial advice, information, and guidance to young people in schools and 6th forms. By utilising counselling skills and guidance practice I am able to assist clients to explore their career options and plan their next steps.
