Full Biography

Joy is the Head of the Council’s Early Years Service. In this role she works closely with schools and early years settings to ensure that provision for children in foundation stage provides the best opportunities for learning and development and prepares children well for the next stage of their education.

Joy has extensive experience of working as a school improvement adviser. She works with special schools and specialist resource provisions and inspects regularly for Ofsted in the primary and special school sector. She has undertaken focussed inspections on safeguarding both in mainstream and specialist provisions.

Her key interest is curriculum development, early years and SEND.
