Full Biography

I am deeply committed to developing inclusive practices and ensuring that all educational environments are accessible for all. As someone who is neurodivergent, I bring a personal dedication to creating spaces where every individual can thrive. My educational philosophy is rooted in a holistic approach that places emphasis on meeting each child where they are and helping them work to their potential through a strengths-based approach. I strive to create inclusive educational environments that support every child’s unique needs, leveraging my extensive experience and knowledge to drive positive change.

My journey began with a passion for developmental psychology, leading me to work as an Assistant Psychologist, where I gained valuable insights into child development. This experience inspired me to transition into teaching. Before joining BDSIP, I held various positions, including Assistant Headteacher, SENDCO, Head of Year, and Teaching Assistant. Each role allowed me to develop a deep and unique understanding of inclusive education and leadership.

At BDSIP, I work with schools to develop and implement pedagogical principles that enable truly inclusive practices. I take a multifaceted approach, that is collaborative and aims to meet the unique needs of the school. This includes, but is not limited to, creating bespoke training to meet the needs of all stakeholders within the school, developing and maintaining systems that ensure efficient and effective practice, as well as curriculum adaptations to support access for all.

I have spoken at various conferences, both nationally and internationally, on inclusive practice, sharing my insights and research with a wider audience. Currently, I am completing my PhD in Human Development and Psychology at UCL’s Institute of Education and am an active member of the Child Development and Learning Difficulties Lab. Additionally, I serve on the advisory board for UCL/IOE’s Centre for Inclusive Education.
