All young people deserve access to an educational environment which recognises their individuality whilst helping them to thrive, regardless of their starting points. I believe education should inspire the whole child, so they see themselves as having the potential to be successful in the future.
I choose to work at BDSIP as I can utilise my knowledge and experience to uplift, support and motivate a broader range of people who are on the front line in schools. I specialise in working with leaders, teachers and other educational professionals to support our common goal of providing the best possible inclusive education for young people. I have experience working to develop practical approaches that can be implemented by those who work with our most vulnerable learners.
My passion for understanding ourselves and others led me to become qualified as a humanistic counsellor and I have a small private practice where I enjoy supporting adults and young people.
Drawing on two decades of educational experience, coupled with my passion for Inclusion, I have developed a range of skills which support teachers and leaders to deepen their understanding of what it means for children and young people to thrive. One of my most significant achievements as an educator included improving the quality of SEND provision in the secondary phase of a large all-through Academy, moving it from RI when I arrived, to Good within one academic year. Working with schools to understand their needs and devise practical strategies to bring about improvement is something that I feel privileged to do be able to do and would welcome discussion about how we can support your school or organisation.
