Melanie has been the Associate Counselling Service Supervisor at BDSIP since September 2022. In this role, she provides regular supervision for all BDSIP Associate Counsellors in line with BACP guidelines.
She has a MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy and further Level 5 Advanced Diplomas in Child, Adolescent and Adult Psychotherapy and Counselling Supervision. As a supervisor, she has worked with practitioners from a wide range of modalities including trainee and experienced counsellors and psychotherapists, both individually and in groups. Theoretically, she is an integrative practitioner and continues to provide counselling support.
Melanie is a trained teacher and worked as such for ten years before pursing her qualifications in counselling. As a BACP accredited practitioner, she specialises in working with children and young people, holding the position of Clinical Lead in large secondary school, alongside her supervision practice. Melanie also offers training and consultation for schools, charities and local authorities who wish to expand, embed or enrich their therapeutic offer.
