Full Biography

Helen is an experienced Deputy Headteacher, Head of Science, and teacher.

Having completed her Zoology degree at the University of Liverpool, Helen began teaching in 2004 via the Havering Beacon Partnership Graduate Teaching Programme. She went on to become KS3 coordinator and then Head of Science at a boys’ school in Romford. In 2009 she took on her second Head of Science post at a larger secondary school in order to gain experience leading a larger team, and to teach at KS5. Helen has taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics to GCSE level and Biology at A Level. During her time as a Head of Faculty she also completed her Masters degree in Leadership and Management with Canterbury Christ Church University. In 2013, Helen went on to become Assistant Headteacher, with responsibility for Interventions and Pupil Premium students, at a large 11-18 comprehensive school in Essex. After five years she was successful in her application to become Deputy Headteacher with responsibility for the curriculum; a role which she enjoyed for a further five years.

Helen is currently in the process of completing her ILM Level 7 Certificate for Executive and Senior Level Coaches and Mentors. Helen still teaches A Level Biology, coaches members of the Senior Leadership Team, works with BDSIP, and is a franchisee, owning a Children Inspired by Yoga business.
