Hosted by the Mental Health Foundation, Mental Health Awareness Week takes place from the 18-24 May 2020.

In recognition of the unprecedented challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the theme for this year is kindness and how we can support one another during what is a challenging time for us all. Kindness has a range of scientifically proven benefits including illness prevention, heart health, reduced stress, ease of anxiety and even helping to extend your lifespan.

BDSIP will continue to share a selection of ideas, resources, and sources of support during #mentalhealthawarenessweek via our twitter feed.

We have also created a range of resources to support students and staff with their mental health including wellbeing links for staff and students and a comprehensive handbook to support during the upcoming transition back into schools.

We hope #mentalhealthawarenessweek will continue to drive conversations around our mental health and well-being and spread kindness across Barking and Dagenham and beyond.
