This course is suitable for practitioners who would like to develop their knowledge and understanding on how young children develop their speech, language and communication skills. It will explore each of the development stages of speech, language and communication and provide strategies on how adults can support young children.

- This course will support practitioners who would like to develop their knowledge and understanding on how young children learn to be effective communicators.
- The training will also support practitioners to develop their own skills in helping young children develop speech, communication and language.
What will the course cover?
- Speech: How you physically produce spoken sounds (e.g., sounds in words, fluency
- Language: How we use and understand spoken, signed and written information
- Communication: Exchanging information using the above as well as non-verbal language (gesture, body language, facial expressions, rate of speech, tone, volume etc.). Includes social language- understanding perspectives, points of view, social rules, implied language etc.
