An introductory session to the construction industry for Primary and Secondary teachers, highlighting its significance, various career paths, and the skills required. Participants will explore the current trends and future opportunities within the sector. The session with focus on how the national curriculum can be integrated into a construction-focused curriculum. Teachers will learn to identify key learning outcomes and align them with construction-related topics.
Teachers will be guided on how to create engaging and relevant lesson plan activities that incorporate construction themes. This includes selecting appropriate activities and resources that resonate with students’ interests and real-world applications.
Teachers will participate in hands-on workshops where they can practice designing and delivering construction-themed lessons. They will also learn to assess student progress and adapt their teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
To support ongoing professional development, the course includes a module on collaboration and resource sharing. Teachers will be encouraged to build networks with industry professionals and other educators to exchange ideas and best practices. The programme concludes with a review and reflection session, allowing participants to evaluate their learning and plan for future application in their teaching practice.
Throughout the session, various activities and resources will be provided to enhance learning and ensure that teachers are well-equipped to inspire their students about careers in construction.
