This meeting is aimed at teachers who are new to teaching KS5 Chemistry and Lab Technicians. There will be time provided to network and meet colleagues from other LBBD schools; we will then review the technical preparation for the Electrochemical Cells practical (OCR PAG8, AQA RP8). Technicians and Teachers will then work together to carry out the practical. We will then review examples of exam questions related to the practical.

Why should I attend?

  • Make connections with Lab Technicians and Teachers new to teaching KS5 Chemistry
  • Learn how to make accurate solutions needed for the practical
  • Consider the way in which practical skills are then assessed

What will the course cover?

  • There will be time provided to network and meet colleagues from other LBBD schools
  • Preparation for the Electrochemical Cells practical OCR 8.2 led by Chief Lab Technician at Dagenham Park School
  • Carry out the Electrochemical Cells practical using student guidelines, comparing those to technician guidelines
  • Review examples of AQA exam questions related to the practical.
