This course is suitable for practitioners who would like to develop their knowledge and understanding on how young children develop their speech, language and communication skills. It will explore each of the development stages of speech, language and communication and provide strategies on how adults can support young children.

Spend time with an experienced speech and language therapist with a view to supporting your staff in effecting communication change for students and staff alike. She will guide you through supporting your team to identify need, implement universal strategies (including use of adult language), and measure impact across your settings.

Supporting Children with Dyslexia and Literacy: Level 3 (with the option of accreditation)

The Level 3 OCN London Dyslexia and Dyscalculia qualification is designed for educators, support staff, and other professionals who wish to deepen their understanding of dyslexia and dyscalculia. The course provides practical strategies for identifying and supporting individuals with these specific learning difficulties. We hope that delegates will carry onto further specialist training.

Supporting children, families and staff with common mental health problems

This course will look at common mental health problems, their signs/symptoms and provide strategies for support.

Supporting Transition in EYFS and YR1

This course will look at the importance of transition and explore the key principles for good practice in supporting successful early years transitions from home or nursery into reception and reception to YR1.

Teacher Assessment in English at the end of KS1

This course is an opportunity for year 2 teachers to moderate their children’s reading and writing evidence using the teacher assessment frameworks at the end of KS1.

Teacher Assessment in maths at the end of KS1

This course will provide teachers with the opportunity to discuss their children’s work and moderate their judgements in line with the Assessment Framework for KS1 maths.
