Looking for meaningful, curriculum-linked learning beyond the classroom?
Join our tour to support teachers’ knowledge and confidence in visiting places of worship. Make meaningful links between classroom learning & lived experience in lessons.
This one-day professional development opportunity gives teachers first-hand experience of visiting up to seven different places of worship in East London.
The session will ensure that teachers will:
- Develop their learning in RE around different religions
- Understand protocols around arranging, attending, and learning from visits to places of worship
- Be better equipped to handle sensitive and difficult questions in the classroom connected to RE
- Have strategies to use in the classroom to develop deeper learning about religion and worldviews
Testimonials:
- “The training has had a big impact on my role as RE lead and on how we plan places of worship visits.” Newham RE lead
- “We should go on more trips and visit all the different places of worship so we can understand them better.” Newham Pupil Year 6
