Yinka is an experienced and committed Careers Adviser, providing high-quality guidance to pre-16 pupils in schools across Barking and Dagenham. Through one-to-one conversations and tailored support, she helps young people navigate their next steps with confidence, clarity, and a sense of possibility.
With over 30 years in the field, Yinka began her career with Hackney Careers Service after completing a degree and a Level 7 Diploma in Careers Guidance and Training. She went on to spend nearly two decades in Waltham Forest, where she worked with pre-16 and post-16 pupils, as well as adults, in both mainstream and alternative provision. During this time, she supported young mothers, excluded pupils, and new arrivals, and earned a Master’s Degree in Education and Training.
Yinka now works as an associate Careers Adviser for BDSIP, delivering guidance in schools across East London. Her calm, empathetic approach and deep sector expertise enable her to build strong relationships with pupils and empower them to take informed steps towards their aspirations.
Yinka’s values are strongly aligned with BDSIP’s mission to improve life chances for all young people. Her work reflects a shared belief in inclusive, person-centred support that enables every pupil to realise their potential, regardless of background or circumstance.
