Melissa George is an Associate Counsellor at BDSIP, working primarily with secondary school students in Essex. As a registered BACP member with a Level 4 Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, she brings an integrative, empathetic approach that meets each young person where they are, using a blend of psychodynamic, person-centred, and CBT techniques, alongside creative activities and mindfulness.
With more than a decade of experience supporting young people in both education and community settings, Melissa is passionate about building honest, trusting relationships that foster growth and positive change. She has a deep commitment to advocating for learners with additional needs and complex challenges, helping to remove barriers so every child can flourish.
Melissa’s expertise in trauma-informed practice and emotional literacy aligns closely with BDSIP’s mission to nurture wellbeing and inclusion, ensuring young people have the resilience and confidence to succeed both in and beyond the classroom.
