Full Biography

My career in counselling began in 2015 when I began working with teenagers, adults, and couples.  As an associate counsellor I supported primary and secondary school students through challenging childhood experiences, anxiety, self-harm and low self esteem to  emotional regulation.  In creating a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space children were able to better understand their emotions, overcome barriers to learning and develop techniques to reach their full potential. My work through private practice has honed my skills in addressing a variety of issues, including bereavement, trauma, relationship difficulties, depression, and anxiety.  This extensive experience has given me the skills to work with a diverse range of clients.

Mental health is as important as physical health. I am passionate about raising awareness and breaking down the stigma that still surrounds it. I regularly integrate mindfulness and meditation into my therapeutic practice, offering a holistic approach that encourages well-being on every level.

As the Counselling Service Lead at BDSIP, I am passionate about delivering high-quality therapeutic support to schools across the borough and beyond. I have a wealth of experience as a counsellor, I am dedicated to creating safe, empathetic spaces where children, young people, and adults can explore their emotions and experiences without judgment. My approach is Person-Centred. I believe deeply in the power of therapy to help individuals overcome emotional barriers, authenticity and achieve personal growth.

In my role as Counselling Service Lead, I work with a team of associate counsellors to deliver a comprehensive counselling service to schools. I am committed to leading by example, ensuring that our counsellors receive the support and guidance they need to provide the best care for clients. I work closely with school staff to develop innovative approaches to mental health support that are tailored to the needs of each school community.

I am excited to be part of BDSIP that is committed to the success and well-being of students. My vision is to continue developing our counselling service, support for schools, sharing best practices locally and nationally. Together, we can create school environments where every student feels heard, supported, and empowered to succeed.
