Debbie provides one-to-one careers advice and guidance to school students, helping them explore their options, unlock potential, and take confident steps towards their future. She is passionate about ensuring that every young person has access to the right support and opportunities to succeed—an approach that reflects BDSIP’s mission of inclusion and empowerment.
Debbie began her career with Careers in the London Borough of Havering, where she spent 17 years in a variety of roles. From supporting the Head of Careers and producing information publications, to co-ordinating adult services and delivering ESF-funded projects for NEETs and targeted adult contracts across six east London boroughs, Debbie developed a deep understanding of the different pathways open to learners and adults alike.
She went on to join the National Careers Service, completing her qualifications while working as an adviser. Over five years, she supported individuals of all ages before stepping into a Lead Adviser role, managing a team of six to eight advisers. After a short break, she returned as a part-time adult careers adviser for a further two and a half years, continuing to guide people towards meaningful education, employment, and training opportunities.
Today, Debbie brings this breadth of experience to her role at BDSIP, where she focuses on supporting school students. Her aim is always the same: to empower young people to recognise their strengths, explore their options, and make informed decisions that set them up for long-term success.
