Debbie provides one-to-one careers advice and guidance to students, helping them explore pathways and unlock their potential.
With a long career rooted in education, Debbie spent 28 years at the University of East London working in widening participation. Her varied roles included managing pre-entry advice, coordinating the Barking/Thurrock Learning Shop, and leading schools and colleges liaison. She also managed ESF-funded projects and organised residential summer schools for local young people. During this time, Debbie gained her careers guidance qualifications, strengthening her ability to support young people’s futures.
Alongside her professional work, Debbie is a full-time foster carer, driven by a deep passion to support young people to achieve their full potential and thrive.
Debbie’s commitment to empowering young people aligns closely with BDSIP’s mission to ensure every child and young person has access to the opportunities, guidance, and support they need to succeed and flourish.
