Governors Training: The Role of the Designated Governor for SEND
This session will explore the role of the designated governor for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) We will clarify key expectations of the role which should include championing the needs of pupils with SEND and ensuring that the needs of SEND pupils are being met. We will focus on practical advice on ‘how to’, emphasising the importance of regular meetings with the school’s Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) and the best questions to ask in relation to SEND.

In this session you will learn what neurodiversity actually is (it's not just about ADHD and autism), build your understanding of common neurodivergent strengths and challenges, explore different neurodivergent profiles and processing styles, and how you can make small changes to your lesson structure and classroom environment that can make a big difference to a neurodivergent student.
How to Really Teach Times Tables so that Children Understand Them (& Preparing for the MTC)
This two part course will look at researched backed approaches to the teaching & learning of times tables, including brain plasticity and the difference between memorization and automaticity. It includes practical approaches that can be directly applied back in the classroom and support both a whole school approach & policy development. The second part of the course will include further challenge and reasoning and look at the administration of the MTC in year 4.
Inclusion by Design - Curriculum Adaptations for Secondary Subject Leaders
This course will cover aspects of adaptive teaching and strategies with a focus on subject leaders adapting their curriculum for pupils with SEND in their own setting.
