SEND & Inclusion Conference: Removing barriers to learning - Inclusive practice for all

Our sixth annual conference will explore a Universal Design for Learning (UDL) as a framework for strengthening universal provision and high quality first teaching to support the inclusion of all learners in all educational settings.

SEND Interventions Funday

This course will explore key interventions to support learners with SEND, with expert facilitators.

Session 1: Practical Solutions for Dyslexia

This course provides an awareness and understanding of dyslexia friendly teaching practices and approaches.

Session 2: Practical Solutions Plus - Reading

This course enables delegates to develop a practical understanding of how to teach and support learners with dyslexia to learn to read and access the written word efficiently and effectively.

Session 3: Practical Solutions Plus - Spelling

This course enables delegates to develop a practical understanding of how to teach and support learners with literacy difficulties and/or dyslexia to learn to spell.

Session 4: Practical Solutions Plus - Writing

This course enables delegates to develop a practical understanding of how to teach and support learners with literacy difficulties and/or dyslexia to learn to write.

Session 5: Screening for Dyslexia and Creating a Programme for a Child

This two-part course will enable delegates to conduct effective screening and identification of dyslexia and use it to create an appropriate programme for a learner with dyslexia.

Speech, Language and Communication in the Early Years

This course is suitable for practitioners who would like to develop their knowledge and understanding on how young children develop their speech, language and communication skills. It will explore each of the development stages of speech, language and communication and provide strategies on how adults can support young children.

Speech, language and communication: empowering you to empower your staff

More and more students with complex needs are attending mainstream settings. Spend time with an experienced speech and language therapist with a view to supporting your staff in effecting communication change for students and staff alike. She will guide you through supporting your team to identify need, implement universal strategies (including use of adult language), and measure impact across your settings.
