            Description

Inclusive Leadership: Leading for Equity, Belonging, and Achievement, designed for teachers and school leaders. This programme integrates the SEND Code of Practice, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and principles of race and social justice. It invites personal reflection, collaborative problem solving, and direct school-based observation to empower inclusive leadership.

            Inclusive Leadership Programme Overview

            Aims

            • To deepen leaders' understanding of inclusive education through the lens of the SEND Code of Practice, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and social justice.
            • To develop the skills and reflective practices needed to challenge biases, shift non-inclusive mindsets, and lead change.
            • To support participants in identifying and exploring a personal or school-based inclusion challenge, using evidence-based frameworks and reflective cycles.

            Objectives

By the end of the programme, participants will:

            1. Understand how to actively apply the principles of inclusive education, including the Inclusion Pledge/ Charter, UDL, and the legal/statutory requirements of the SEND Code of Practice (2015).
            2. Reflect critically on their own attitudes, assumptions, and potential biases, as well as those embedded in their school systems.
            3. Develop and refine a guiding inquiry question or challenge related to inclusive leadership in their own settings.
            4. Observe and reflect on real-world inclusive practices in action through a guided school visit.
            5. Design an actionable plan for advancing inclusion and equity in their school community.
