Tanjila Hussain is a Clinical Supervisor at BDSIP, dedicated to supporting the wellbeing and professional growth of school staff through reflective supervision. She creates a safe, non-judgemental space where staff can explore the emotional impact of their work, deepen their self-awareness, and develop practical strategies to sustain their wellbeing in demanding school environments.
A qualified Integrative Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor, Tanjila holds a Level 6 Certificate in Counselling Supervision. Her background includes significant experience as a school counsellor and wellbeing practitioner, supporting children and young people with a wide range of emotional and behavioural needs. She has also worked within complex mental health and crisis settings, offering support to individuals experiencing severe psychological difficulties. These experiences inform her trauma-informed, relational approach to supervision.
Tanjila was drawn to BDSIP’s ethos of collaboration and its commitment to embedding emotional wellbeing within education. She believes that when staff are supported to reflect, process, and prioritise their own wellbeing, they are better placed to nurture the wellbeing of the pupils they work with. Being part of a team that values reflection, inclusivity, and growth is a deeply meaningful aspect of her work.
