Description

Why should I attend?

This module is aimed at equipping new governors with the basic knowledge required to provide effective support and challenge and also governors with more experience who would like 'refresher' training in how to develop their understanding of financial accountability.

The module will focus on:

  • where the money comes from
  • setting the budget
  • how we spend the money
  • monitoring the budget
  • asking the right questions
  • governing body's key financial responsibilities and obligations (support and challenge)
  • how to monitor financial oversight in practice
