As Headteacher of Mayesbrook Park School, a Pupil Referral Unit in Barking and Dagenham, I am privileged to lead a community where every young person is valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.

For over thirty-eight years, my work in secondary education — including fourteen years in my current role — has been rooted in connection, collaboration, and compassion. From my early experiences in inner London schools to my time as a consultant senior leader, I have dedicated my career to helping schools and teams create environments where children facing the greatest challenges can rediscover their self-belief and thrive.

By working alongside colleagues to embed sustainable systems for improvement, I’ve learned that real change happens when people feel trusted, capable, and inspired to make a difference that lasts.

At Mayesbrook Park, I work closely with local agencies and strategic partners to safeguard, champion, and broaden opportunities for every learner. Joining BDSIP extends this mission — to work collectively across the borough to nurture inclusion, raise aspirations, and ensure every young person has the opportunity to flourish.
