Fauzia Hoque leads BDSIP’s Counselling Service with deep compassion, specialist knowledge and a commitment to breaking down stigma around mental health. Since joining the counselling profession in 2015, she has worked with children, young people and adults across a wide range of issues, from anxiety and low self-esteem to trauma, bereavement and emotional regulation, creating spaces where individuals feel safe to talk, process, and grow.
Fauzia’s approach is rooted in the person-centred model and enriched by holistic practices such as mindfulness and meditation. Whether working in schools, private practice or alongside families, she brings calm presence, empathy and a belief in every individual’s potential to her therapeutic work.
At BDSIP, she leads a team of skilled associate counsellors, supporting them to deliver high-quality, tailored support in schools across the borough and beyond. She works closely with school leaders and staff to design and embed whole-school approaches to emotional wellbeing, ensuring every setting has the tools and confidence to meet the needs of its students.
Fauzia is proud to be part of an organisation that puts children and young people’s wellbeing at the heart of school improvement. She is passionate about growing BDSIP’s counselling offer and championing best practice across the system, so that every child and young person feels heard, supported and empowered to thrive.
