I am glad to let you know that B&D SACREs DfE annual report is now available for schools, senior leaders and governors. SACRE have created a 2-page summary which might be perfect for leaders to update their knowledge of where achievement and standards sit around Religious Education and Collective Worship in our borough and how SACRE is working strategically to continue raising and maintaining standards.

A couple of highlights around our RS GCSE and A’ Level results:

  • 96% of pupils receive RE (14 withdrawals from 45,886 pupils)
  • 95% of schools judge their RE provision to be good or outstanding
  • GCSE Religious Studies outcomes in Barking and Dagenham continue to strengthen and now sit above national averages. In summer 2025, 41% of Year 11 pupils were entered for the full GCSE course
  • A-level Religious Studies outcomes are also strong. As a borough, Barking and Dagenham performs above the national average for A*–B and A*–C grades

Claire Clinton, our RE and CW advisor is meeting with secondary school heads of RE presently to share the full LA analysis on our 2025 results.
