Full Biography

Saima is a counsellor at BDSIP and currently working in schools, in her role, Saima supports children who are experiencing a range of emotional issues both at school and at home. Saima has experience in the primary and secondary school settings and has worked with a range of age groups.

Saima utilises a variety of skills to make a good connection with the children and support them in a way that works best for them, often taking her therapy outdoors to take advantage of the natural environment and the benefit it can bring to children. In the counselling room, Saima uses play and art therapy along with some CBT to enable children to express their emotional difficulties and find a way to deal with the issues that are affecting them. Saima has worked with parents and teachers within the school setting and has experience of counselling adults from varied backgrounds to deal with a range of complex issues.
