Full Biography

Lucy has work experience in many areas including hospitality and retail, in finance and more recently with charities.  She worked in a pastoral capacity for nearly 15 years in Essex and East London, supporting people in difficult and challenging situations and offering training in personal development.  She moved from pastoral work to psychology and from there training to be a qualified counsellor was a natural progression, allowing her to continue her love of working with young adults and adults.

Through BDSIP Lucy was placed as a counsellor-in-training in a school in Barking in January 2020.  After 4 years study and 100 counselling hours, she finished her training in October 2020 and is now an Associate Counsellor working with BDSIP within the same school in Barking.  She is also a trained bereavement counsellor and On Line and Telephone counsellor, and continues her personal development and studying.  She is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), working within their Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

She feels it is such a privilege to be able to help young adults work through their personal challenges and see positive outcomes.
