Julia has been counselling for the past 4 years and completed a Diploma a year beforehand in counselling skills. Wanting to continue her studies for better future opportunities, she went on to do her degree in Integrative counselling BA hons and Graduated last year November 2019.
Julia’s experience stands vastly in Drug and Alcohol addiction/use and misuse, working with children and adults. While also working with clients who suffer with depression, anxiety issues and other addictions. Julia joined BDSIP in the middle of this year and began work in September 2020 in primary schools. Prior to joining BDSIP, Julia’s background experience is in the health care sector for 12 years and she continues to work in the NHS part time which gains her a different benefit when working with people due to regarding holistically all requirements i.e. taking into consideration emotional, physical, mental and social needs.
Julia is using the skills trained in Humanistic, CBT and Psychodynamic to help clients with various needs and incorporates play/art therapy to engage the younger clients who may work better then talking therapy.
