Pathways to Sport
Wednesday 24th February 1.30 – 2.30pm

What’s the difference between Sport and Exercise Science, Sports Therapy and Sport, Physical Education and Development? How do you decide which one to apply for and where will it take you? Or are you interested in Community Sports Management, Sports Coaching and Performance or Sports Journalism? This session led by the University of East London will cover all these routes and give you an insight in what your studies at degree level will involve and the opportunities for work in the future.

Pathways to Oil and Energy Management
Wednesday 10th March 1.30 – 2.30pm

Whether you are interested in the oil and gas industry – still a relevant and global business – or are motivated by the transition to sustainable energy systems, built upon both local community renewables schemes and global environmental treaties, further study in this area will prepare you for careers related to all aspects of energy production. Pathways to Oxbridge Y12
Wednesday 17th March 1.30 – 2.30pm

Preparation for application to Oxford or Cambridge needs to start early so this session will get you thinking about how what you need to be doing and reading now and what skills you need to be able to demonstrate in your personal statement and at interview. It covers the types of written tests and interview questions you might face and the timelines involved in the process. This session is led by Newnham College, Cambridge.

Pathways to Digital Media
Wednesday 17th March 1.30 – 2.30pm

What will you gain from studying a Digital Media course?
First there’s the practical media production, web design, commercial radio and audio storytelling. Then
Digital media and communication for students who are interested in internet cultures, data and society and media and communication research. For those who want to explore the commercial aspect of marketing communications and consumer culture there’s Digital Media PR and Advertising. And finally Digital Media and Journalism for students who want to work in journalism, focusing on stories, multiplatform news, media law and how to launch a publication. Hear about all this and more at this session led by Westminster University.

Pathways to Fashion
Wednesday 24th March 1.30 – 2.30pm

Always been interested in fashion? Find out about the huge rage of opportunities including design, fashion buying and merchandising, fashion imaging, marketing and PR, styling, and production. Discover which aspect of the business would match your skill set and which type of course would suit you at this session hosted by the London College of Fashion.

Pathways to Business
Wednesday 24th March 1.30 – 2.30pm

A business degree will equip you with the skills needed to thrive in a business environment. There are a range of business degrees offered by universities, ranging from business studies and management, to economics, accounting and finance. Through a business degree you will not only learn the basics of business, but you will explore management skills, the principles of marketing or business analysis. Business degree graduates tend to work in an array of roles including investment, economics, accounting, finance, management, insurance and so on. Pathways to Nursing and Midwifery
Wednesday 24th March 1.30 – 2.30pm

During the COVID pandemic we’ve learnt more about the essential role nurses have within the NHS. Do you want to be part of that team? Are you interested in child nursing or adult nursing, mental health nursing or midwifery? This is led by nursing professionals and lecturers from London South Bank University session and will give you the key information you need in making your skills and experiences stand out in your application and interview.

Pathways to Cyber Security
Wednesday 28th April 1.30 – 2.30pm

As a result of the continuing digital revolution, computer systems are involved with just about every aspect of modern life. As the number of mobile users, digital applications, and data networks increase, so has the number of potential risks and threats, resulting in the need for talented professionals to secure and protect systems and data. Pathways to Teaching
Wednesday 5th May 1.30 – 2.30pm

Interested in a career in teaching? Hear what it is like to be in front of a class of primary aged children or teenagers. In this session you can explore your options and find out about the qualifications and skills needed, the funding that’s available and what you learn during your training. Led by the University of East London with support from local newly qualified teachers.
