My current role involves meeting with schools to improve overall attendance and reduce the number of sessions lost due to absence, working closely with families to discuss action plans which address the barriers to attending school. I feel it is important to be supportive and to build a good relationship with the Parents/Carers which in turn keeps the lines of communication and understanding open.
Previously working for a Charity (3.5yrs) on two very different projects in the Barking and Dagenham Borough

2. Transition Practitioner supporting Yr 6 children with the transition to Secondary school by providing group work and individual support to the children, alongside delivering workshops for identified parents to support with getting school ready ensuring a smooth start for their children.
