Counselling Service Lead & Wellbeing Inclusion Advisor
Paul joined BDSIP in 2018, and has in-depth experience in attendance, pastoral, safeguarding, trauma, mental health and educational support, gained over many years of work experience within various facets of the education system.
Paul’s current role for BDSIP requires him to create, develop and lead a counselling support service for primary and secondary schools within Barking and Dagenham. The counselling service has been well received by schools and is a huge success. As the service lead, Paul’s role includes recruiting and managing counsellors, selling and developing the service, building and maintaining stakeholder relationships. Paul also works closely with schools to advise on whole school attendance strategy and providing training to teaching and support staff which focuses on Child Trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s). Paul has previous experience of running his own business, which allows him to bring a creative and commercial side to the BDSIP utilising his transferable skills to grow and develop the wellbeing services offered to support schools.
He has strength in strategy and ingenuity when dealing with stakeholders.
