Paul joins BDSIP after combining two interim roles – Consultant Deputy Headteacher in Aylesbury as well as teaching Science as an SLE in Bedfordshire. He was also an associate for 43 schools in the Eastern region on behalf of PiXL, the national collaborative that provides support on assessment, curriculum and leadership. In his hometown of Luton, Paul is also the Chair of Governors at Chiltern Academy as well as the organising the termly “LutonEd” Teachmeet.
Until summer 2014, Paul was Principal of Oasis Academy Enfield for four successful years, having founded the Academy from scratch in 2007 in his role as deputy. Previous to Oasis, Paul was Associate Headteacher at Luton’s Denbigh High School which followed on from his two-year spell at NCSL spent developing “Leading from the Middle” from its inception in 2001. As ex-Head of Science at Queensbury High School in Dunstable, Paul doubled GCSE pass rates and led his team to “outstanding” status as recognised by OfSTED.
In his spare time Paul is Chair of the Luton Heritage Forum, active within the local conservation movement and DJs with his son on Luton Urban Radio. His season ticket with Tottenham Hotspur pays tribute to his patience and championing of lost causes.
