Associate Inclusion Advisor
Kathryn is a primary and secondary advisor specialising in SEND, SEMH, Mental Health and Wellbeing.
Kathryn’s qualifications include an MA, PGCE in SEMH through SEBDA, and the SENDCO PGCE suite offered by Hertfordshire University. She has also successfully completed the Future Leaders programme in 2015. Current studies are an MSc in Mental Health and continuing CPCAB qualifications to become a counsellor, whilst offering foster placements in her home.
Previous professional experience includes being a Deputy Headteacher of a KS1-KS4 alternative provision, outreach teaching, and working as a SENDCO in mainstream schools both inner, outer London and across counties. Kathryn has over seventeen years experience within the SEND field teaching across all phases of both primary and secondary education. Additional experience has included participating in development boards to shape provision in Hertfordshire such as Nurture in the mainstream sector, and the SENDCO for an inner London boxing academy.
Kathryn’s support focuses on enhancing SEND provision academically and pastorally, developing cultures of belonging, and whole school wellbeing.
Previous work has included building outreach teams for students in mainstream schools, devising onsite alternative programmes, creating community and family support, implementing mentor programmes for students and staff, department change management, supporting SENDCO’s new to post in the local area, managing whole school transitions, engaging “mentally well” PSHE curriculums, and case working complex children at serious risk of harm.
