This course is aimed at Key Stage 1 teachers who have pupils they hope will attain Greater Depth in writing by the end of Year 2. This course will explore what high attaining children need from teaching and learning in English in Key Stage 1.


 This is a full day course.


Why should I attend?

To ensure you can fully support your high attaining pupils to reach their potential in English by the end of Key Stage 1


What will it cover?

  • Exploring what working at Greater Depth means in reading and writing.
  • Considering what makes a Greater Depth child and what the school can do to support them
  • Considering the wider context – what must your school do to achieve this?
  • Analysing children’s writing
  • Examining key expectations at the end of Key Stage 1
  • Exploring teaching and learning opportunities for Greater depth children

  • Key Stage 1 Teachers



This is a full day course.

Upon registration our booking system will correctly display the cost of this course based on your school package status.

  • CPD Package subscribers: There will be no charge for this course for schools who have purchased the CPD Package.
  • Pay as you go BDSIP members: For schools that have not bought the CPD Package, there will be a charge of £200 per delegate for BDSIP members.
  • Pay as you go non-members: There will be a charge of £250 per delegate for schools which do not currently have BDSIP membership.
