We are pleased to be hosting our annual Headteacher's Conference, with a focus on the leadership of school improvement through teaching and learning.


The Headteachers' Conference 2022 will take place over two days.


Thursday 14th July

8.30am - Tea and coffee on arrival

9.05am - Keynote: Sam Simms, UCL Institute of Education and Education Datalab, on Leading effective school improvement: Characteristics of effective teacher professional development

9.50am - Martin Renton: Putting the theory into practice – the practitioner’s perspective

10.35am - Q&A with Sam Simms and Martin Renton

10.45am - Tea and coffee break

11.00am - Collaborative task led by Martin Renton

12.00pm - Lunch

1.30pm - Building a curriculum for all, led by Ben Mearhart from The Black Curriculum

2.30pm - Collaborative task led by Ben Mearhart

3.30pm - Tea and coffee break

3.45pm - BDSIP AGM led by Ben Spinks

4.15pm - Day one plenary with Hannah Conway and Andy Roberts

5.00pm - Networking and free time

7.00pm - Pre-dinner speaker: Dr Ruth Briant-Jones, Air Force and NHS A&E

7.45pm - Dinner



Friday 15th July

9.00am - Keynote: Bethan Hindley, Head of Leadership Delivery, Teacher Development Trust: A culture of improvement: creating the environment in which to develop.

10.00am - Workshop/masterclass one

11.00am - Tea and coffee break

11.15am - Workshop/masterclass two

12.15pm - Concluding presentation: Elaine Allegretti, Director of People and Resilience, LBBD and Jane Hargreaves

1.15pm - Closing comments: Cllr Kangethe

1.30pm - Lunch and close
