BDSIP Science Network Meeting

Home > BDSIP Science Network Meeting

In our third Science Network meeting of the year we will be covering the nurture and development of Physics teaching within the team as well as taking a workshop on holding people to account in a fair and effective manner.

Why should I attend?

  • Coming together as group of Science leaders, we are able to support each other through the sharing of expertise, resources and experiences.
  • Physics is a subject where there are relatively few graduates entering the profession. As Heads of Science we need to be aware of the strategies that are available to bring expert Physics teaching to our students.
  • Management sometimes requires us to undertake frank and honest discussions when it comes to holding people to account. Training for this is often hard to come by!
  • Attendees will receive a free copy of “Teaching Secondary Science” by Adam Boxer (2021, John Catt Educational) as this is a book we will be making reference to in future network meetings.

What will the course cover?

This session will feature input from Henry Hammond, Lead Officer from the London North and East Science Learning Partnership, who will outline Physics support available from a range of organisations.

Bukky Yusuf will also take us through a range of strategies that can help when approaching awkward conversations.

Who should attend?

  • Senior Leader
  • Head of Department
