This course is aimed at professionals working in Years 1 and 2 who are looking to develop children’s writing skills.


 This is a full day course.


Why should I attend?

  • To explore the process of writing with children in Years 1 and 2, including key teaching and learning.


What will it cover?

  • Understanding the process of writing and how engagement for children leads to high-quality outcomes.
  • Examining the need for immersion in reading.
  • Considering how to structure writing, allowing for independence.
  • Looking at planning and the planning sequence.
  • Sharing and demonstrating the use of high-quality texts.
  • Analysing how discrete and contextualised grammar can be part of a unit of work.
  • Exploring strategies for differentiation.
  • Share practical teaching ideas.

This is a full day course.

Upon registration our booking system will correctly display the cost of this course based on your school package status.

  • CPD Package subscribers: There will be no charge for this course for schools that have purchased the CPD Package.
  • Pay as you go BDSIP Members: For schools that have not bought the CPD Package, there will be a charge of £200 per delegate for BDSIP members.
  • Pay as you go non-members: There will be a charge of £250 per delegate for schools that do not currently have BDSIP membership.
