Home > SEND Conference 2021: A Vision of Transformative Leadership of Inclusion

We welcome you to BDSIP’s third annual SEND Conference hosted by a range of leading experts in the field of SEND and Inclusion. Their insights and knowledge will be invaluable in supporting our strategic leadership thinking and action planning as we face the biggest educational challenge in recent years.

Description

Why should I attend?

I want to:

  • Consider how the culture of my setting will inspire and motivate our children to believe in themselves and develop the resilience they need to overcome adversity.
  • Explore what the strategic leadership of SEND looks like, following the impact of COVID-19.
  • Consider the relationship between SEND and Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Understand the Engagement Model and its implication for practice from September 2021.
  • Explore a tried and tested approach to implementation of the Engagement Model for Pre-Formal Learners.
  • Consider an evidence-based approachto mapping and assessing personal progress for Semi-Formal Learners and Formal learners.
  • Explore a formal curriculum for Global Learning Difficulties and FormalLearners who are consistently working below age-related expectations.
  • Consider best practice in Inclusion Hubs to support learners with SEMH and/or those at risk of exclusion in either primary or secondary mainstream settings.
  • Understand attachment and how it supports resilience in relationship building beyond the home.
  • Gain insights on the difficulties with diagnosing ASD in girls, the warning signs we should be vigilant for and what we can do to support.
  • Learn about the relationship between ASD and mental health and how we can best support these learners.
  • Understand how the LASER Programme has supported B&D schools during the most challenging times in recent educational history.
  • Explore why it is vital to establish and maintain a joined-up approach to reducing stress and enabling learning.
