Understanding school improvement and governance role

Home > Understanding school improvement and governance role

This session will focus on the core purpose of all schools; ensuring that all pupils are making progress in their learning and how those in governance should ensure that their structures and practice ensure the governing board has strategic overview of their school’s plans, actions and outcomes.

Description

We will explore how school vision informs improvement planning and, in turn, how this should guide the understanding of school priorities amongst governors and direct their monitoring function.

Session leader: Steve Barker, Lead Governor and Consultant – Strictly Education 4S
