What will the course cover?

  • Identifying dyslexia, supporting parents, giving advice and issues about ‘labelling’
  • Exploring issues around assessment and identification – with an overview of what is available
  • Using the YARC and PHAB test to assess pupils and draw up a learning programme for them
  • Ensuring Quality First Teaching is Dyslexia Friendly Classroom
  • Useful resources
  • An opportunity for Q & A


Essential requirement:

  1. 1.     both the PHAB2 Complete Set £180 and YARC Complete Set of assessment materials £274 (primary or secondary as appropriate) must be purchased in advance of the course (if not already in school) and brought along to the session.

  1. 2.     Delegates must bring along to the session a pen portrait of one pupil who they think may have dyslexia and two or three samples of work, e.g. writing, to make reference to.
