This one-day practical workshop for practitioners across all key stages introduces using Numicon to support children with SEND through the Numicon Breaking Barriers and new Numicon Big Ideas publications.


This is a full day course.

It will be led by Peter Warwick, an accredited Numicon Consultant and author with over 20 years` experience in education, ten as an Inclusion Manager.


Why should I attend?

  • To develop an understanding of the Numicon manipulatives and how they make abstract mathematical ideas real and ‘visible’ 
  • To experience the Numicon approach in action and consider how it can successfully support the learning needs of children who have not yet met crucial key stage 1 or 2 objectives 
  • To understand more about the barriers to mathematics some children may face 
  • To discover how Numicon Breaking Barriers and Numicon Big Ideas support the assessment and re-teaching of key mathematical ideas from key stages 1 and 2 
  • Discover useful ideas and strategies which can be applied back in your classroom

  • Key mathematical ideas with Numicon 
  • Increase teacher confidence in how to support the learning of children working below age related expectation and those with SEND

This is a full day course.

Upon registration our booking system will correctly display the cost of this course based on your school package status.

  • CPD Package subscribers: There will be no charge for this course for schools that have purchased the CPD Package.
  • Pay as you go BDSIP Members:For schools that have not bought the CPD Package, there will be a charge of £200 per delegate for BDSIP members.
  • Pay as you go non-members:There will be a charge of £250 per delegate for schools that do not currently have BDSIP membership.
