Why should I attend?

To examine and explore  the teaching, organising and pedagogy required to ensure successful and meaningful reading experiences and outcomes for children throughout KS2


What will the course cover?

Training will provide practitioners with an opportunity to:

•Clarify and develop subject knowledge and pedagogy

•Examine the different types of reading needed to provide a rounded reading experience for children

• Develop understanding of reading skills, questioning and comprehension.

• Explore assessment in Reading

• Explain how to carry out Shared Reading and Guided Reading/Whole Class Reading in class

•Consider how to plan Shared Reading and Guided Reading/ Whole Class Reading sessions

•Plan from a text: selecting a text and how to use it with children in Guided Reading and Shared Reading

•Share meaningful independent reading activities.

Primary and Special Schools

BDSIP Members – pay as you go £50

Non BDSIP members – pay as you go £62.50 

CPD Package No charge

Schools outside of LBBD – pay as you go £62.50
