Primary Science for NQTs and RQTs

Home > Primary Science for NQTs and RQTs

Develop your confidence in planning, teaching and assessing science. Suitable for NQTs and teachers who qualified last year and were not able to have sufficient in-school experience of science teaching during their training.

Why should I attend?

  • To become more confident teaching science
  • To enable your pupils to make good progress
  • To share experiences with other NQTs and RQTs

What will the course cover?

  • strategies for teaching and assessing science
  • resources to support planning, teaching and assessing science
  • networking opportunities

Session 1 (2 Feb 3:30pm – 4:45pm) will cover essential information and provide opportunities to share concerns, shape the remaining sessions and build a supportive network.

Session 2 (23 March 1:00pm – 2:30pm) will respond to identified needs and signpost further useful resources and support

Session 3 (23 June 1:00pm - 3:00pm) will be an opportunity to reflect, share and build on practice developed from earlier sessions. I hope this session can be face-to-face and will involve practical activities. The date will be set nearer to the time as the shape of the summer term in schools becomes clearer.

It is expected that participants will attend all 3 sessions.
