Effective Teaching: Managing Challenging Behaviour

Home > Effective Teaching: Managing Challenging Behaviour

This session will focus on behaviour management strategies that underpin effective teaching and learning for the Recovery Curriculum: what we can do at a classroom level to manage behaviour, lower stress and anxiety and engage our children and young people with learning.

Description

Why should I attend?

Hosted by Amjad Ali, who ran 3 highly successful training sessions for B&D in the summer term, this course will provide evidence-informed guidance, suggestions and take away ideas for teachers to use and develop into effective practitioners.

Amjad is a practising class teacher, SENCO and Senior Leader.  His sessions are informed by current research and best practice in his setting.

This session is for teachers who want to:

  • learn to manage the stress and anxiety that leads to challenging behaviour
  • develop effective routines for learning in their classroom
  • promote positive behaviour for learning and engagement in the learning process
  • build effective relationships with their students

What will the course cover?

Delegates will consider:

  • effective methods for managing stress and anxiety
  • effective methods for relationship building
  • the core principles behind building effective behaviour management routines
  • their use of language and the Anchoring Effect.

Summer Term Feedback on Amjad’s sessions from B&D delegates:

  • Amjad was fantastic, very clear and gave plenty of time for thought and discussion. I was engaged and thinking the entire time and could relate back to my setting throughout. Will be recommending Amjad to my colleagues and definitely trying some of the strategies put forward in the training at my setting.’

  • ‘Personable trainer with lots of experience in his field’

  • ‘Amjad is fantastic.  I’ve been telling everyone to get on his courses.’

If you do sign up to the training but are unable to attend, we will share all the resources and a time-limited link to a recording of the session so you are able to complete the learning at your convenience.
