A course for key stage 1 teachers whose children are still working on securing early reading skills. This training day provides the opportunity to examine the teaching, organising and pedagogy required in reading.


 This is a full day course.


Why should I attend?

  • To clarify my subject knowledge and pedagogy around early reading and decoding
  • Develop understanding of questioning and comprehension
  • To gain understanding and confidence to plan and carry out shared reading and guided reading in class


What will it cover?

  • Practical examples of how to teach Talk for Writing
  • Discussion around the application of Talk for Writing in schools
  • Detailed look at the impact of Talk for Writing.

This is a full day course.

 Upon registration our booking system will correctly display the cost of this course based on your school package status.

  • CPD Package subscribers: There will be no charge for this course for schools that have purchased the CPD Package.
  • Pay as you go BDSIP Members: For schools that have not bought the CPD Package, there will be a charge of £200 per delegate for BDSIP members.
  • Pay as you go non-members: There will be a charge of £250 per delegate for schools that do not currently have BDSIP membership.
