So that we can explore what young writers need to become confident writers, including the activities and planning needed to teach and support children as they move from Reception into year 1. 

What will the course cover? 

• Considering children’s needs post pandemic as they move from R to Y1 

• Explore the principles and practices which underpin early writing. 

• Understand the importance of developing prerequisite skills for early writers to become confident writers. 

• Develop practitioners' subject knowledge of the development of writing  

• Provide practical and teaching ideas. 

• Explore resources and books. 

• Explore planning and assessment procedures.
