Description
Why should I attend?
- I want to develop my knowledge and understanding of a range of SEND.
- I want to develop practical strategies to support a diverse range of SEND learners.
What will the course cover?
Over 12 sessions, the course will cover the requirements of the Teaching Assistant Standards (2016). Participants will complete a Professional Learning Portfolio to record evidence of practice against the Standards. They are expected to maintain at least 95% attendance to complete the course.

- SEMH
- ACES and Trauma
- Supporting Learning
- SLCN
- Neurodiversity
- Complex Needs
- Effective Teaching and Learning Strategies
- Enabling Environments
- Setting the Stage for Engagement
- Monitoring and Assessing Progress
- Physical and Sensory Needs
- Working with Families and Community Participation

Cost:
BDSIP Members – £250 per participant
Non BDSIP members – £350 per participant
CPD Package – no charge
Schools outside of LBBD - £400 per participant
There is a complementary training programme for SENCOs, delivered by nasen, which is designed to support colleagues to maximise the impact of the TA Training Programme in their settings. Booking is through the BDSIP website.
