You will leave with a better understanding of the new curriculum for RE and able to put it into place in your school with a range of exciting and practical teaching strategies. You will leave with a sound understanding of how to teach and assess the skills of RE at KS3 and beyond.

Participants will:

  • Ensure your long-term curriculum map is in place to cover the legal requirements for Secondary RE;
  • Have a clear sense of what it means for pupils to progress in RE through the secondary school and strategies to ‘check’ (assess) that this is taking place;
  • Be able to articulate curriculum and assessment in terms of ‘Intent’ and ‘Impact’;
  • Share best practice on how to teach RE well in the secondary school (‘Implementation’), ensuring your school is teaching high level knowledge and skills, and
  • Grow in confidence in leading and managing RE across your school context.
